I am an intermediate (barely) windsurfer who hasn't been out in about 7 otr 8 years. i recently inherited a whole bunch of gear and i don't know which board i should try to use first. i got a fanatic bee 274 limited and a JP Australia 117 freeride carve. i cannot jibe or water start. Can anyone help me out with this? is either board a floater or is one more of a floater than the other one? which would be easier to start up again on? thanks, Thor

I suspect that the bee being a 9 footer and an older board would probably be more unstable than the newer JP Freeride which should be shorter and wider making it more stable. Being a floater all depends on how heavy you are and if you are sailing in salt or fresh water..the board will be floatier in salt water because of the salt content. Pat

Hi,
Floatability depends mostly on your weight but regardless, the JP will be more accessible as it is a more recent board (wider). Have fun on the water ... JLP |
